At Erie Home Repair Service, we strive to make Repairing or Remodeling your home as pleasant and comfortable as it can be. We realize we are coming into your home, and we are going to disrupt your daily life just by being there. We try our best to be considerate of your time, space and money.
We have found that many of our neighbors here in Erie and surrounding areas have a difficult time getting contractors to return calls, so we start by trying to return all calls within 30 min. We can not always get this done, at times we are swamped. We try to encourage past customers to text. Texting allows us to respond quicker to your needs.
The next thing we do at Erie Home Repair Service to make your experience more pleasant is to give you a quote over the phone or even thru text. We have been doing this type of work for a long time and have a pretty good idea of what most projects will cost you. If the project is more complicated in scope we set up an appointment to come to your home, talk about and measure up your project. We can’t stand high pressure sales, and we realize that not every project may make good financial sense for you right now. We are totally no pressure, we just answer your questions and give you the numbers.
What Happens Next…
When you decide to have the work done, we write up a contract that includes the agreed upon price and scope of work, and most importantly, this step puts you on our schedule. The contract will outline the approx. start and completion dates, draw instructions, our insurance coverage, your notice for three days to cancel if you change your mind, as well as our contact information and our contractor # PA115519.
Once we start the actual work you will have people working in your home between 8am and 5pm each day unless we are held up by drying times or special order delays, or special arrangements have been made. We rough clean the site each day to prevent accidents. We will be tracking progress daily and be available for questions, and concerns.
We will have you choose the items that can be chosen, i.e. lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, flooring, paint, etc. We can help with design opinions as well as help you make informed decisions on these products. If you have no preference we typically choose what we find to be the best value for your money as we would ours. Not the cheapest but the best value considering, cost, warranty, design and availability.
After completion of the work, we encourage you to put together a punch list, though we doubt you will need one, and we will address those items. Then we will sit down to settle up and close the contract.
